The purpose of this page is to present different relaxation techniques that I have found useful throughout each week to help relieve the daily stresses that may affect you at some point. We drive fast, eat fast, work fast, shop fast, talk fast and even sleep fast!! This has to stop!!

Taking the time to slow down really helps you to collect your thoughts, calm any jittery nerves and re-set your priorities. I’m sure that there have been times when you have felt that during a particular day you could never do enough! The pressure builds, the stress increases and you start to criticize yourself for underachievement! The following are some points that I have found to be essential so as NOT to feel so overwhelmed and avoid falling into the situation just mentioned. Everyone needs quiet time. This should be on a daily basis, and should become part of your normal routine to help to keep calm and help your well-being:

1. Massage Therapy**

** - Massage Therapy has been one of the BEST things that I have ever done for myself. Some of the grocery savings has gone toward this technique. I highly recommend this form of relaxation to anyone ! If you have never tried this, you are really missing something special! THINK OF YOUR HEALTH!! This past August marked the completion of four years of weekly treatments, and I don’t regret one moment of it!! Thinking that I had bursitis in my shoulder, tendonitis in my elbow and a bone spur on my right heel, I turned to the services of some pretty wonderful people who eliminated all of my aches and pains!! Other methods to “Give Yourself a Break” sometime during the day are:

  1. Meditation – Quiet time to collect your thoughts in a quiet atmosphere.
  2. Reading/audio tapes – Get your concentration onto something pleasant.
  3. Walking/Stretching – Getting away from the desk for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Soft Music – Listening to relaxing music in a quiet setting.
  5. Daydreaming – Quiet time thinking pleasant thoughts about an upcoming event or vacation, etc.
